UMNO members offered insurance

February 2004

PICT Solution and Tahan Insurance introduced 2 exclusive insurance schemes to the UMNO members in correlation with the Nation’s 2004 General Election. SETIA membership scheme, fully managed by PICT was offered to all UMNO members. Skim PERKASA on the other hand was a scheme offered to those UMNO members involved in ‘Gerak Gempur’ campaign.

SETIA is an exclusive insurance scheme which includes a loyalty benefit program to UMNO members with an annual fee of RM1.40. Members are entitled for ‘Khairat’ of RM250.00 (which is claimable by members’ next of kin). Members are also entitled for bonus points on purchase of other life/general insurance products.
SETIA members will on occasion be invited to participate in seminars and workshops organised by PICT.

SETIA was introduced with the objective of promoting and educating the Malay community on the importance of insurance in their daily lives, and as investment for future. The SETIA card is being marketed by PICT and underwritten exclusively by Tahan Insurance.

In keeping abreast with the recent election campaign, Tahan Insurance provided a special PA coverage to members of SETIA as well as its workers.

The coverage, branded as Skim PERKASA was offered from as low as RM1.00 and would provide accidental death and total disablement coverage of RM3000.00 plus an additional RM500.00 to cover medical charges for injuries to the members during the campaign. The Skim PERKASA was made available through the sponsorship of UMNO candidates running for the election at their respective areas. UMNO workers needed do was to submit their name and produce their identification card to their sponsors to register them as their general election workers. Their sponsors (who are the candidates for the election) would on the other hand, submit the names to PICT for the Skim PERKASA.
Similarly, should there be any mishaps, all members needed do was to produce their identification card, police report and medical report to PICT to make ‘hassle-free-immediate’ claims.
