UMNO members offered insurance

PICT Solution and Tahan Insurance introduced 2 exclusive insurance
schemes to the UMNO members in correlation with the Nation’s 2004
General Election. SETIA membership scheme, fully managed by PICT was offered
to all UMNO members. Skim PERKASA on the other hand was a scheme offered
to those UMNO members involved in ‘Gerak Gempur’ campaign.

SETIA
is an exclusive insurance scheme which includes a loyalty benefit
program to UMNO members with an annual fee of RM1.40. Members are
entitled for ‘Khairat’ of RM250.00 (which is claimable
by members’ next of kin). Members are also entitled for bonus
points on purchase of other life/general insurance products.
SETIA members will on occasion be invited to participate in seminars
and workshops organised by PICT. |
SETIA was introduced with the objective of promoting and educating the
Malay community on the importance of insurance in their daily lives, and
as investment for future. The SETIA card is being marketed by PICT and
underwritten exclusively by Tahan Insurance.
In keeping abreast with the recent election campaign, Tahan Insurance
provided a special PA coverage to members of SETIA as well as its workers.

| The coverage, branded
as Skim PERKASA was offered from as low as RM1.00 and would provide
accidental death and total disablement coverage of RM3000.00 plus
an additional RM500.00 to cover medical charges for injuries to the
members during the campaign. The Skim PERKASA was made available through
the sponsorship of UMNO candidates running for the election at their
respective areas. UMNO workers needed do was to submit their name
and produce their identification card to their sponsors to register
them as their general election workers. Their sponsors (who are the
candidates for the election) would on the other hand, submit the names
to PICT for the Skim PERKASA. |

Similarly, should there be any mishaps, all members needed do was to produce
their identification card, police report and medical report to PICT to make
‘hassle-free-immediate’ claims.

| SETIA membership
card and the Skim Perkasa was officially launched on 23 February in
Kota Baru and subsequently by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah
Ahmad Badawi in his hometown at Kepala Batas’ during the UMNO
special gathering held on 6 March. |
